New phone
After a few years without an upgrade and a looming holiday in the Lake district I decided to upgrade my phone and in particular the camera. After a moderate amount of time spent looking at reviews I decided to go for the Samsung Ultra S21. At the moment the two best camera phones seem to be that and the new iPhone but I just don't want to get in to the Apple eco-system purely from a work/PC point of view for extra flexibility, more choice and saving some money.
Photo masterclass
This is definitely not a masterclass. I'm not a photographer and am very much a fan of point and click. I do enjoy taking photos and having another reason to get out in to nature a bit more so will at least try exploring some of the more advanced settings but for now I'm just pointing and clicking and having a general play around.
The zoom
One huge improvement over my last phone/camera is the zoom. The two pictures below were taking from the same place and through a window. I've rarely used a zoom so will be doing more experimenting with this but am pretty impressed with the versatility this will offer.
Another sunset
On another night earlier this week I went on a little walk and took some more photos of another sunset. I was playing around a bit with some different compositions and views as well as trying out a few of the different settings on the phone. These are what came out, I haven't edited them at all (something else I will be looking in to trying) but obviously the phone has it's own software running so I wouldn't exactly claim they are filter free or anything like that.
